During this city tour by Alternative Groningen Tour, guide Fiona takes participants through centuries of Groningen’s LGBTQIA+ history, from the late Middle Ages to the present day. The tour visits locations where important moments in queer history took place and shares stories of persecution, resistance, activism, visibility, and celebration.
Participants can join one of the following tours:
Friday 12 June, 15:30–18:00 – Walking tour
Saturday 13 June, 14:00–16:30 – Cycling tour
Friday 19 June, 13:00–15:30 – Walking tour
Sunday 21 June, 15:15–17:45 – Cycling tour
Participation costs €5 per person (€3 with a Stadjerspas). All tours start and end at the Pride Photo exhibition next to the Akerk in Groningen.
The tours are organised by COC Groningen & Drenthe and the Municipality of Groningen in celebration of Pride Photo, on view next to the Akerk from 12 June to 7 July.
