Love Lives Here

De Hallen Amsterdam

3 July – early September 2026
De Passage, De Hallen Amsterdam
Free admission

From 3 July, the photography exhibition Love Lives Here will be on view in De Passage at De Hallen Amsterdam.

For this series, Amsterdam-based photographer Laurien Riha portrayed seven queer couples from Amsterdam and across the Netherlands. The participants range from a couple who married in 2001, when the Netherlands became the first country in the world to open marriage to same-sex couples, to newlyweds and other couples of today.

The portraits were created in locations chosen by the participants themselves—places from their everyday lives that hold special meaning within their relationships. The result is an intimate series about love, partnership, and family, and about the freedom to define these on one’s own terms.

Love Lives Here marks 25 years of marriage equality in the Netherlands. The exhibition is organised by Pride Photo and De Hallen Amsterdam.

Pride Photo is a Dutch non-profit organisation that promotes awareness of the diversity of LGBTQIA+ experiences through photography and visual storytelling. The organisation is best known for its annual outdoor exhibitions.
