RJ Sangosti will always remain humbled by the fact he is an alumni of the Ted Scripps Fellowships in Environmental Journalism at The University of Colorado. Some of the world’s top environmental journalists have gone through the program, and he was selected as a member in 2020. Throughout Sangosti’s photojournalism career, he has focused much of his work toward telling stories of environmental injustice. He has become known for his long-form documentary style of photography covering those issues with energy and passion.
Sangosti was part of a team at The Denver Post that won the 2013 Pulitzer Prize for breaking news. His work has been part of Time Magazine’s top photos of the year, and the National Press Photographers Association named him Photojournalist of the Year in 2013. Sangosti also had the honor to be a jury member for the centennial year of The Pulitzer Prizes in 2016.
