PRIDE PHOTO TENTOONSTELLING 2023
Welkom bij de PRIDE PHOTO TENTOONSTELLING 2023. Deze wordt georganiseerd door de Stichting PRIDE PHOTO. Wij zijn een Nederlandse organisatie die ernaar streeft de acceptatie van seksuele- en genderdiversiteiten in de samenleving te vergroten.
Je ziet hier een selectie uit de ruim 5.600 inzendingen die wij ontvingen vanuit de hele wereld voor de PRIDE PHOTO AWARD 2023, onze jaarlijkse internationale fotowedstrijd. Naast de award-winnende foto en serie zie je hier een collectie van beeldverhalen die een veelzijdige representatie van de LHBTQIA+*-gemeenschap laten zien. Op deze manier hopen we je op een laagdrempelige en respectvolle manier aan het denken te zetten over seksuele en genderdiversiteit en de positie van de LHBTQIA+’ers wereldwijd.
De beelden bieden een blik op levens en werelden die voor sommigen vertrouwd zijn, en voor anderen wellicht nieuw, misschien verrassend of zelfs een beetje ongemakkelijk. Dat is logisch. We nodigen je uit de tentoonstelling rustig te bekijken met een open blik, en de verhalen te lezen en te luisteren zonder vooroordeel.

THE PROCESS OF CHANGE
Het thema van PRIDE PHOTO 2023 is The Process of Change. De LHBTQIA+ gemeenschap is voortdurend op zoek naar nieuwe wegen en vormen om zich te uiten en diversiteit te vieren. Een veranderingsproces dat de norm uitdaagt en oprekt. Met grote en kleine stappen, creativiteit, vechtlust en veerkracht weet de gemeenschap steeds weer de horizon te verbreden en haar bestaansrecht te bevestigen.
Foto’s spelen daarin een belangrijke rol. Ze tonen de aanjagers en hun processen, groot en klein. Daarbij telt niet alleen eindresultaat, maar vooral de weg die is afgelegd om daar te komen en zij die daarbij betrokken zijn.
En in feite is iedereen betrokken. We dragen allemaal op een manier ons steentje bij aan het proces van emancipatie en acceptatie. Sommigen prominent en opvallend, op een grote manier. Anderen meer achter de schermen, of gewoon door een inspiratie te zijn voor anderen door te zijn wie ze zijn.

BEZOEKERS INFORMATIE
De openluchttentoonstelling is overal en altijd gratis te bezoeken. De tentoonstelling bestaat uit 20 panelen, elk met een korte beschrijving en een QR-code. Door deze te scannen met de camera van je mobiele telefoon wordt een webpagina geopend die aanvullende informatie geeft over de foto’s en het onderwerp. Ook hoor je een audiofragment waarin meer wordt uitgelegd, bijvoorbeeld door de fotograaf zelf, een ervaringsdeskundige of iemand die het thema toelicht.

Welcome to the PRIDE PHOTO EXHIBITION 2023. It is organised by the PRIDE PHOTO Foundation. We are a Dutch organisation striving to increase the acceptance of sexual and gender diversity in the society.
Here you can see a selection from the more than 5,600 entries that we received from around the world for the PRIDE PHOTO AWARD 2023, our annual international photo competition. Besides the award-winning photo and series, you will see a collection of visual stories that depict a multi-layered representation of the LGBTQIA+* community. In this way, we hope to encourage visitors in an approachable and respectful way, to think about sexual and gender diversity and the position of the LGBTQIA+ community worldwide.
The images offer a glimpse into lives and worlds that are familiar to some, but may be new to others, perhaps surprising or even a little uncomfortable. That makes sense. We invite you to look at the exhibition calmly with an open mind, reading and listening to the stories without prejudice.

THE PROCESS OF CHANGE
The theme of PRIDE PHOTO 2023 is The Process of Change. The LGBTQIA+ community is always looking for new ways and forms to express itself and celebrate diversity. A process of change that challenges and stretches the norm. With big and small steps, creativity, a fighting spirit and resilience, the community manages to keep broadening its horizons and affirming its right to exist.
Photos play an important role in this. They show the initiators and their processes, big and small. Here, it is not just the final result that counts, but above all the road taken to get there and those involved in it.
And in fact, everyone is involved. We all contribute in some way to the process of emancipation and acceptance. Some prominently and strikingly, in a big way. Others more behind the scenes, or simply by being an inspiration to others by being who they are.
Ask yourself: What is my role in this process of change?
VISITORS INFORMATION
The open-air exhibition is free to visit anywhere and at any time. The exhibition consists of 20 panels, each with a short description and a QR code. Scanning this with your mobile phone’s camera opens a web page that provides additional information about the photos and the subject. You will also hear an audio clip explaining more, for example by the photographer, an expert by experience or someone explaining the theme.
