Pride Photo 2026 – The call is open!

We strive to expand our horizons, and those of our audiences, through a rich, multi-faceted, and diverse collection of stories representing the global LGBTQIA+ community. The Pride Photo 2026 Contest is open to photographers of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels, from professionals to emerging talents.
We invite submissions in all photographic formats and approaches, including documentary photography, portraiture, collage, photographic intervention, or AI-assisted imagery. Through your work, help us express the varied and multifaceted lives of the LGBTQIA+ community worldwide.

Categories
Category 1: STORIES
Submit a project series exploring LGBTQIA+ experiences. Each project can include 3–15 images.
Category 2: SINGLE IMAGES
Submit up to 5 images per project as standalone works that convey a powerful story in a single frame.
You may submit a maximum of 2 projects per application. Multiple applications by the same artist are allowed.

All entries must be submitted via Picter. Entries sent by email or other means will not be accepted.

Disclaimer: Please note that our office will be closed between 22nd and 31st December. Any queries or concerns regarding the status of your submission received during this period will not be reviewed prior to the deadline. What Winners Receive
Selected photographers will:
- Receive €500 for each work included in the Pride Photo Exhibition 2026
- Gain exposure to visual arts professionals, photography lovers, thousands of visitors, and the media through exhibition displays and online platforms
- Have their work featured on Pride Photo’s website and social media, credited and tagged where possible
About Pride Photo
Founded in 2010, Pride Photo is a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating and raising awareness of LGBTQIA+ experiences through photography and visual storytelling.
The annual Pride Photo Contest showcases the plurality and diversity of LGBTQIA+ identities. An independent jury of international professionals selects the winners each year, and the winning works are exhibited publicly in Amsterdam before traveling nationally and internationally.

Terms & Conditions
- The photographer(s) must be the author(s) of the submitted pictures.
- The photographer(s) must be the copyright holder(s) to submit the picture(s).
- A picture can only be entered once, either as a single picture or as part of a story.
- Entries must be submitted via the official contest platform Picter. Entries sent in other ways will not be accepted.
- Pictures can be submitted whether or not they have been published.
- All pictures must have accurate captions, written in English only, and contain all the required information. Captions written using ChatGPT or other AI systems will not be accepted.
- Pictures must not show the name of the photographer, publication, or any other identifying information in the image.
- Copyright holders retain copyright of their submitted pictures.
- Stichting Pride Photo Award (henceforth called PP) is allowed to use all submitted images for the purpose of its exhibition(s) and all the activities by PP directly following from the exhibition(s). PP must always state the name of the photographer and the title(s) of the picture(s), and will inform the copyright holder prior to the publication(s) or start of the exhibition(s).
- Copyright holders of submitted pictures grant PP unlimited non-exclusive use of the pictures for activities in all media (including social media, online and print) in relation to the contest, the exhibition(s), the archive, and all promotional, educational, and research activities for and under the auspices of PP, without any remuneration being due.
- The copyright holders represent and warrant that submission of the pictures does not breach any law, and that no third party, including those depicted, can hold any claims or objections regarding the rights granted to PP, including the publication(s). The copyright holders will hold PP harmless of any claims from third parties related hereto.
- The rights holders certify and warrant that the persons depicted cooperated voluntarily in the creation of the photo, that they are aware of the submission, and have given permission for the public display of the photo in the exhibition.
- Submitted images must not contain unlawful, defamatory, obscene, discriminatory, or otherwise offensive material. PP reserves the right to disqualify entries that violate this rule.
- Photographers must ensure that any recognizable individuals in the photos have given informed consent, especially in sensitive contexts.
- PP may, at its discretion, edit or crop images for exhibition or promotional purposes but will not alter the integrity of the photograph’s content.
- Any use of submitted images by PP for commercial purposes outside the scope of the contest, exhibition(s), archive, or promotional activities will require separate permission from the copyright holder.
- The Terms and Conditions and any dispute, proceedings, or claim of whatever nature arising out of or in any way relating to the Terms and Conditions (including any non-contractual disputes or claims) shall be governed by Dutch law.
- Any dispute arising from the Terms and Conditions (whether contractual or non-contractual) shall be decided solely and exclusively by the competent court of Amsterdam.
- The conditions set out in the Terms and Conditions are binding, and PP reserves the right to refuse or exclude any entry at its own discretion.

No, the contest is open to emerging and professional photographers alike.

Works should reflect the diversity and plurality of the LGBTQIA+ community and explore new perspectives on inclusivity and queer life.
How many projects can I submit?

Is there an entry fee?
No, participation is free.
Who selects the winners?
An international jury of professionals in arts and culture reviews submissions and selects the winners.
