Pride Photo is a non-profit organization based in Amsterdam that uses photography to amplify LGBTQIA+ stories, promote inclusivity, and foster social change. Through exhibitions, workshops, and media engagement, we challenge stereotypes, spark dialogue, and celebrate the diversity of the LGBTQIA+ community.

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and creative Communications Officer to join our team in March 2025. If you’re passionate about LGBTQIA+ rights, have a strong grasp of digital media, and love crafting compelling narratives that connect with diverse audiences, this role is for you!

As our Communications Officer, you’ll develop Pride Photo’s digital presence, engage with our community, and maximize visibility for our exhibitions and events.

Key Responsibilities

– Digital Content Creation & Management

  • Develop and manage engaging content across Pride Photo’s social media channels, ensuring alignment with our mission and visual identity.
  • Plan and execute campaigns, post updates, and actively engage with our online community.
  • Maintain and update Pride Photo’s website (www.pridephoto.org) with the latest events, news, and initiatives.
  • Ensure accessibility and ease of navigation for visitors.

Press & Media Relations

  • Draft and distribute press releases for Pride Photo events.
  • Build relationships with media contacts to increase coverage and visibility.

Performance Tracking & Strategy Development

  • Monitor and report on social media and communication performance using analytics tools.
  • Use insights to refine strategies, improve engagement, and maximize impact.
  • Advise on effective communication and social media strategies to support Pride Photo’s goals.

What We’re Looking For

Experience in communications, digital marketing, or social media management (preferably in a non-profit or cultural organization).
Passion for LGBTQIA+ rights and a deep commitment to inclusivity and representation.
Interest in Photography and a strong affinity for visual storytelling.
Strong storytelling and writing skills in both English and Dutch.
Proficiency in social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) and website management (WordPress).
Analytical mindset, with the ability to assess campaign performance and use tools like Google Analytics and social media insights.
Creative approach with a keen eye for visual storytelling and engagement.
