J.G. Basdew is the founder of bsdwcorp., an innovative artistic and social practice centered on interdisciplinary collaboration. Emerging as a prominent voice in the arts both in the Netherlands and globally, Basdew’s work spans visual arts, curated exhibitions, theater productions, and audiovisual projects. He explores themes of identity, gender, and vulnerability through an intersectional lens, considering race, class, and queerness.

Beyond his artistic endeavors, Basdew contributes to the cultural sector as a board member of Kunstmuseum Den Haag and DutchCulture, promoting accessibility and inclusion. As a jury member for Pride Photo, he emphasizes the transformative power of photography in shifting perspectives and fostering dialogue: “Photography has the power to shift perspectives and provoke real dialogue.
